WorldDataRank explains country-level data through rankings, charts and short analysis. Our goal is to make comparisons easier to inspect while keeping the source, reference year and limitations visible.

How stories are produced

We use software to retrieve data from documented public sources, including the World Bank Indicators API. The publishing pipeline checks source identity and response, data structure, units, reference year, entity coverage, duplicates and other story-specific quality rules. Charts, rankings and tables are generated from the validated observations rather than hand-entered values.

Automation can prepare drafts; it does not automatically publish articles. Before publication, a human reviewer checks the source and year, ranking direction, coverage, calculations and claims, article presentation, metadata and links. This review is a quality check, not an independent audit of the source provider or a guarantee that every underlying observation has been independently verified.

Ranking and interpretation standards

Each article identifies its source, year, geography and units. We use the latest common reference year that meets the configured coverage rules for that story. We do not fill missing values by treating them as zero or inventing estimates. Ranking direction and treatment of ties are explained with the data. Display rounding should not change the ordering.

Interpretation describes patterns present in the data. We avoid presenting correlation as causation or adding political, cultural or economic explanations that the cited data does not establish. Articles should state material limitations, exclusions and uncertainty.

Editorial independence and updates

Commercial relationships must not determine data values, methodology or rank order. When a provider revises data or we find a material error, we review the affected article and update its source or correction note as appropriate. See our Corrections Policy and Methodology & Data Sources.
